week roundup #2
Time Started: 8:30 AM
Mood: Ambivalent
Weather: Bright and sunny, yet sharply cold
To everyone's surprise, I have not forgotten about this blog immediately after attempting to commit to it. I also have more to talk about in this entry, since it was actually an eventful week.
First order of business is that my job interviews were successful. I landed the job, and I am now a server at the local Olive Garden.
In all honesty, I do not wish to be a server in any capacity; I originally applied to be a dishwasher, but when I arrived I was informed that the position had already been filled, and they recommended I apply for server. At least I will be making pretty decent money. And it will look good on my resume to have had work at a full-service restaurant.
The good news is that the training process seems to be very rigorous- I asked about it, since I didn't want to be thrown into the job ill-prepared, and I was told it would take at least a full week of observation and instruction before I was allowed to wait tables on my lonesome. Hopefully this means I will not fuck up my position too badly.
In other news:
Halloween was a few days ago, which was fun (as it is my favorite holiday). I didn't go trick-or-treating. Maybe I'm wrong, but I do feel a bit too old to hang around children and ask strangers for candy, so instead I engaged in the classic teenager activity of "chilling with your friends and watching horror movies." It was a lot of fun. Me and one of my closest friends did a matching costume, which was enjoyable even if we didn't go anywhere. Afterwards, me and my younger sister rewatched Over the Garden Wall, which is a fall tradition for us.
Not much else for this week. My schoolwork has been less intense, so I've taken a bit more time for my hobbies. I've started crocheting again, and am currently working on a red and black cat ear beanie. I also have been playing guitar more lately, and I went rollerskating for the first time in about a month. So I would say it's been a pretty good week for me.
The album recommendation for this week is Tetsuo & Youth by Lupe Fiasco. This is one of my favorite rap albums ever made; the first track, Mural, contains some of the most genius lyricism ever recorded. I really cannot recommend this album enough. You can find it here (youtube) and here (spotify).
As always, if you like my blog or my music choice, let me know on my guestbook. I greatly enjoy getting messages there.
Back next week,
