writer's block

week roundup #1

Time Started: 1:08 PM
Mood: Contemplative
Weather: Grey and rainy, a personal favorite of mine

Well, I have finally decided to actually make a commitment to writing weekly entries for this blog. Who knows how long it will last, though.

My original plan for this blog was to write essays, or media analysis, but I have come to the conclusion that I do not have the time or energy to actually write quality/well thought-out posts on the regular. Instead, I will be using this blog as a public journal of sorts. I've been journaling in paper notebooks for a while now, but I figured it may be useful to start archiving condensed weekly versions of my daily journals on the internet, for posterity. And also so that there is actually something to read when people click the "blog" link on my site.

This is, in all honesty, a very bad week to begin these weekly roundups, because nothing much of note has happened. I did finally place a mail order to get my film developed, something that I constantly forget to do. I have been holding onto these undeveloped rolls since July. Today, I'll ship them out to the lab, and all of the good scans will be posted to my photo gallery.

My place of work also closed down around five days ago, so I am currently unemployed. I am not too worried about this, however; I have a job interview at the local Olive Garden scheduled for this Wednesday. If that goes well, I will actually end up making around three dollars more hourly than I was at my old job, which is a significant improvement. I do not believe in fate or any kind of higher power, but it does feel a bit like this was meant to happen. As much as I am not looking forward to starting a new job and having to acquaint myself with new rules and new people, I do enjoy the thrill of being around people who I have never met before- I could change my entire personality around them, and they would be none the wiser. It's fun to think about all of the different people I could pretend to be, or essentially become.

That's about it for life updates. As I said, I've had a rather uneventful past week.

I've also decided to put an album recommendation at the end of all of these posts, as a fun way to recap what I've been listening to over the week. This week's album is LOTTO by shoegaze band they are gutting a body of water. This album has been out for less than two weeks, but it has been on repeat for me the whole time. It's gloomy, introspective, and excellent to listen to while you stare out the window into the autumn rain. Please check it out if that sounds of interest to you, you can find it here.

As always, if you like my blog or my music choice, let me know on my guestbook. I greatly enjoy getting messages there.

Back next week,
