month roundup #1

Time Started: 9:55 PM (previous day)
Mood: Indifferent
Weather: Unseasonably warm

Hello readers.

First, I must offer up my sincerest apologies for not writing an entry on this blog for over a month. College is a cruel, tortuous prison, and finals week this year was one of the hardest I have ever worked through. Yet, we prevail, and I did manage to survive the week with only an 88 in Calculus to mark my struggle.

Other than that, I haven't been doing much with my time. I've worked quite a few busser shifts, which has been rather unenjoyable, and I had a small Christmas get-together with my friends which went rather well. One of my greatest skills is buying people gifts; I am always looking for opportunities to do so.

The biggest change between now and the last time I wrote an entry is that I am no longer single. I must confess that I have never been in a relationship before, so this is all uncharted territory. It's only been around two weeks since I asked her out, but it has been very fun. The whole situation feels unreal, in a way- it's almost a shock to my system when I remember that I actually do have a real girlfriend now.

Despite my overwhelming business, the last month or so of my life has mostly been tedious and boring. I have little else to report on for this entry. I'll cut right to the chase and give you my album recommendation.

Over the course of the month, I've been trying to listen to more metal. It's one of my favorite genres, but one I don't listen to enough. As a result of this quest I discovered the band Yellow Eyes, as well as their most recent album Confusion Gate. I thoroughly enjoyed this record upon first listen- it has an ambient darkness to it that I tend to love in music, but it's still heavy enough to satisfy my metal cravings. You can find it here.

As always, if you like my blog or my music choice, let me know on my guestbook. I greatly enjoy getting messages there.

Back next week,
